With a newly appointed Director of EHR Implementations, Auditrax expands.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Jun. 20, 2016 – The adoption of EHR, or electronic health records, in the healthcare industry has been a prime tool for increasing productivity and efficiency while also improving patient satisfaction. However, transitioning systems for health records causes apprehension among many hospitals—stunting the growth and capabilities of the crucial services the healthcare industry provides. In an effort to curb this concern, Auditrax is expanding to offer the experience, leadership and communication hospitals need to successfully implement EHR.

With Auditrax’s newly appointed Managing Director of EHR Implementations, Steve Omans, the company is in the position to move healthcare systems and facilities toward exceptionally robust practices in EHR. Omans has over 25 years of extensive experience with physician groups, charge capture, clinical documentation, revenue cycle processes, credentialing, managed care contracting, and large medical groups. The addition of Omans to the Auditrax team will lead the way for Auditrax to change the disarray that is currently associated with implementing EHR.

“Auditrax has been looking forward to entering the Electronic Health Records space for some time,” said Auditrax Co-Founder and Director, Josh Fuhr.  “Steve is the perfect partner to lead this division and help the company navigate the marketplace and bring our low cost, high quality services to health systems nationwide.”

Start With Why

Today I was inspired by fellow Grand Rapids entrepreneur and Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) member Aaron VanderGailen to challenge myself to create a “Start With Why” statement. Start With Why is a book andTED talk from Simon Sinek that asks you to think of “What, How, Why” of your business and personal brand.

What – The product or service you offer. For Auditrax this is a procurement recovery audit that looks for over-payments to vendors.

How – The features of the product or service that make it special or set it apart from the competition. At Auditrax we provide the world’s best procurement recovery audit because we consistently recover more than any firm in the industry.

Why – This is a purpose, cause, or belief. It’s the reason your organization exists.

For the longest time I always wondered why I am so passionate about what I do. Why do I show up and give 100% every day in the office and care deeply about my clients? What exactly it is that I do as a leader that consistently delivers 4-10 more recoveries than publicly traded competitors? I always knew that our audits were in-depth, I always had confidence in our teams and their ability to identify more recoveries, but there always felt like there was something deeper.

Aaron warned me that coming up with my Why Statement would not be easy, and I expected it to be a very difficult journey to discover what was deep inside me making me tick. To my surprise, I was able to come up with my why statement that same night:

Why – because it’s my last name

Auditrax is a family company and the identity of the brand has been tied to the identity of our family. Its foundation comes from my dad’s experience in the industry and has passed to the 2nd generation with my brother Jeremy and myself as we have revolutionized the recovery audit industry with our in-depth recovery audits.

It comes from the fact that Auditrax is a Fuhr company, and that is something we are very proud of. There is a lot on the line when 3 men from a family are tied together through business, and it is not a responsibility I take lightly.

With every new client we continue to build the personal brand that represents industry leading recoveries, client satisfaction, and the future of the recovery audit industry.

Auditrax launches proprietary Customer Portal

Auditrax is pleased to announce the launch of a Customer Portal that puts Auditrax at the forefront of recovery audit technology in yet another area of the industry. The system was created from scratch using proprietary software and hosted on the Auditrax secure servers.

The Customer Portal allows customers the opportunity to log in 24/7 to view audit progress in real time from anywhere. The system is so robust that the customer can view details from individual contact points with vendors to see what conversations are being had between collections managers and vendor contacts. All claim information will be available including spreadsheet invoice listing and supporting documents, follow up history, and even Auditrax invoice information.

“The Auditrax Customer Portal was designed to give the customer an unprecedented amount of access to the audit and claims recovery process” said Audit Manager Josh Fuhr “We really pushed IT to make it happen and they were able to deliver an amazing solution to our customers”

“After working with Salesforce as a customer portal,” said Auditrax IT Manager Keith Huss “we needed more flexibility to allow the depth of access the Audit Managers were requesting, so we pursued a different software package and the results are an incredible amount of information at the fingertips of the customer”

PO Terms and Conditions

Almost all companies are using Purchase Order Terms & Conditions with vendors that dictate the “rules of the game” for procurement transactions and the subsequent payment for those goods or services. Many are standardized and include acceptance & agreement, shipment, force majeure, price, warranty, governing law, etc. but are written solely with legal protection in mind.

Some companies take even further control of the procure to pay relationship by issuing supplier manuals and additional documents that further establish policies and procedures for doing business.

But did you know that the PO Terms and Conditions is the front-line and most effective method of controlling material costs in an organization?  PO Terms and Conditions can still satisfy their intended purpose of providing protection from and settling legal disputes between a company and its suppliers while also dictating cost saving methods that can save companies millions.

One of the major issues identified after working with clients over 20 years is that the freight terms are too vague to properly define both ownership and responsibility for payments. This allows the vendor to interpret this language on their own and make decisions that could be hurtful to the purchasing company and go against the intentions of the PO Terms.

When a PO Terms document doesn’t provide proper protection, there is the opportunity for recoveries and improvement of the document to prevent future errors. For companies with extensive PO terms with well defined responsibilities, there is an even greater opportunity for an audit of the vendors’ compliance to these terms. Companies spend a tremendous amount of time and money refining these documents to protect themselves, only for vendors to ignore the rules contained within.

Auditrax is leading the charge in using the PO Terms and Conditions to help its clients reduce material costs and hold vendors accountable. As part of a procurement recovery audit, Auditrax will examine the document with a cost savings focus before the audit and also following the audit to see how errors could have been prevented using this document. All this comes without a charge or hourly rate, just the ability to work with your company to recover erroneous payments made in the past 4 years.

Protect yourself today and ensure that vendors are following the rules as agreed upon to help lower your material costs and increase profitability.

Association of Certified Fraud Examiners

Josh Fuhr has just been accepted as a Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Josh serves as the Audit Operations Manager for Auditrax overseeing the daily audit operations and working directly with audit staff to ensure maximum recoveries and process improvements.

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is the worlds largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. Together with more than 60,000 members, the ACFE is reducing business fraud world-wide and inspiring public confidence in the integrity and objectivity within the profession.

While fraud discovery is not the primary goal of Auditrax, the error identification and documentation techniques used by the ACFE are very similar to those used by procurement audit firms. The other main focus of ACFE, internal controls, is also applicable to preventing procure-to-pay errors through process and control improvements for Auditrax clients.

Josh plans to take the CFE examination in the fall of 2012 with the opportunity of being recognized as a Certified Fraud Examiner. Membership currently provides access to fraud prevention knowledge and material along with training resources.
